Designed for customization, Prime’s IR-AK6 can be easily designed to meet specific drying requirements and/or applications.
Employing two zones of High-Velocity Air Impingement Knives and one zone of Gold Reflector Infra-Red lamps, Prime’s HYBRID Dryer produces superior drying results on coated, non-permeable and porous substrates utilizing far less total energy than other drying systems.
During impingement drying, the boundary layer around the product is broken through with high-velocity air knives upon the surface. This air impingement process substantially increases heat and mass transfer rates, thus ensuring the highly efficient removal of moisture in water-borne chemistry.
Through advanced CFD computer simulations, prototyping and field measurements, Prime optimized the drying effects of these air-impingement dryer zones. Regardless of substrate width, Prime’s air impingement knives provide consistent air delivery across the entire substrate surface. Coupled with VFD-controlled air delivery and infinite temperature control, Prime’s air impingement drying zones produce consistent high-quality drying at top process speeds.
Prime’s IR-AK6 HYBRID Dryer only uses circuit breakers to protect against short circuits and current overload conditions, saving both time and money. Emitter failure or over-current conditions are identified, reported and easily reset.
Top-quality controllers control output power via analog signals or fieldbus connections. Prime controls provide a soft start feature that gradually raises the current until the emitter reaches its steady state. Infinitely variable power output settings are provided through the highest quality solid state relays, All emitter connections are protected with small, easily manageable power cross-sections. Switch ON occurs at the voltage zero cross and switch OFF occurs at the current zero cross.
