Heated Air Knives (“HAK”) - Air impingement Drying Technology

AK(“Air Knife”) Air Impingement Dryers are more widely used than ever – think Dyson Hand Dryers. Prime’s Air Impingement Dryers, coupled with Prime’s Premier Controller,   is a game changer.

During air impingement drying the boundary air layer around the product is broken through with high-velocity air knives directed toward the substrate/material surface. This air impingement process then allows for substantial increases to both the heat and mass transfer rates, thus ensuring the highly efficient removal of moisture in water-borne and other liquid chemistry. Through advanced CFD computer simulations, prototyping and field measurements, Prime optimized the drying effectiveness of Prime’s HAK - air impingement dryers. Regardless of substrate width, Prime’s air impingement knives provide consistent air delivery across the entire substrate surface. Coupled with VFD-controlled air delivery and infinite temperature control, Prime’s air impingement drying zones produce consistent high-quality drying at top process speeds.
